Romance

Feeling like a wee bit of nonsense

Or maybe it’s just I’ve never had a morning in which NO one visited my little corner of Gen. Busy shopping? Are you actually working? 0_0

Well, then… I will continue futzing with the layout of Second of All and writing on Third Time’s the Charm. Remember to vote in the poll if you want me to write you a Valentine’s Day short romance.

A Very important question for the best fans in the world (yes, you!)

So if I were to say… write a short story for Valentine’s Day…

Remember! Second of All is due out in JANUARY!!!

(EEEE! and also, *biting nails*)

I love poetry (if you know me in real life, this is nothing new to you). What I love most is how in a few words the author can evoke an image that us painters of prose take pages to express. I also love how, like songs, they compliment a memory or story within your head. This poem in particular made me think so strongly of Kiki and James. Thanks, Beth!

So you remember when I was kvetching about Cross-blogination? Here’s another one. Gemma’s blog is on Blogger mine is of course on WordPress, so I am sharing the link to her review of my book manually.

If you have a Google+ account give her some sugars!

My favorite part of the review is this: “The book doesn’t quite follow the rules of any specific genre – while the main theme is organised crime intertwined is a story of hatred, love and regret, which pleased me greatly. Some may say that you cannot have a story about warring Mafia families, crime and murder with stories of love thrown in, but I think in this instance it really worked.”

Aw, Hell, who am I kidding? I loved the whole thing! I’m so happy right now I could kiss the next seven people who walked up to me!

Did you know?

So I just checked on iTunes and it shows Bird Day Battalion at #2, right next to Gemma Halliday!

This prompted an entirely new post because I am a HUUUUGE Gemma Halliday fan. I absolutely adore her High Heels mysteries. So just having my name next to hers temporarily is such an incredible honor, I don’t even know where to start! 🙂 And last night (true it was probably just an autofollow bot, but still) Bella Andre followed me on Twitter. Total fangirl squee moment. I swear, who knew following your pipe dreams could lead to such happiness?

And I want to say AGAIN because it can’t be said ENOUGH:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone that has read The Bird Day Battalion and First, I Love You, and especially those of you who have taken time to spread the word and leave reviews.

*smooches*

Gratitude seems not strong enough

So I posted a picture (taken from my phone in excitement before I realized I could have just done another screencapture–did I mention excitement? LOL) on Facebook and Twitter: [UPDATE: Did a screencapture!]

I CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH for helping put The Bird Day Battalion in the Top Five free downloads at Apple!!!! I know that free tends to sell itself, but there are a lot of free stories out there so to me it speaks more of you guys helping spread the word, and for that I am so deeply humbled and thankful. Even if it just lasts today it’ll stay in my heart and mind on those days when I’m having trouble expressing myself writing for The Downey Trilogy or anything else. And I do have lots of anything elses stuck in my head waiting to be told.

Special shout out to my friend Sweet P (known to some of you as Bad Penny) for rallying the #Naughtyville troops. If you are an adult, go follow her blog (if you’re not already) for sexy & sweet poetry, BDSM Erotica, and some seriously salacious photos:

This and That

Ok so the Goodreads Giveaway has closed and I’ll be getting some of these books out to the winners as well as those who’ve written me for signed copies. (Didn’t know you could do that? Why, sure! Hit me up on Facebook or Twitter)

I really hope the winners enjoy, not just as an author, but perhaps they’ll write a review that will help other readers decide to take a chance on a new author, seeing as I don’t know them from Adam. Not to sound *too* cocky but how can you not love The Downeys? Ah… now I’ve got to knock wood. Any volunteers? LOL

Anyhoo, I want to thank those of you who have been helping me spread the word about The Bird Day Battalion short romance story! Without it being on Amazon’s KDP I can’t list it on most Free Book Promotion websites, as of course, it is not free at Amazon. BUT if you can help spread the word I think it will “sell” itself so to speak since it is free. Who doesn’t love FREE ROMANCE? I mean, come on?

So, lend it, talk about it, review it, recommend it. And I *hope* to do another holiday romance for you around Valentines Day. Because I love you guys, I really do!

I hope to post again later, this time with maybe a sneak peek at Second of All.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!
