It’s a Holiday Giveaway! Sign up to win a copy of First, I Love You

Yep, I set up another giveaway at Goodreads and it’s set to close on December 20th, just in time for the holidays, and JUST in time for the release of Second of All in January!

Are you excited?

I’m excited.

Nervous, anxious, slightly nauseous, but mostly… excited.

;P

Enter to win———->

LIEBSTER: Some questions are answered, others pop up

The Rules:

  • When one receives the award, one posts 11 random facts about oneself and answers the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  • Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (while making sure one notifies the blogger that one nominated them!)
  • One writes up 11 NEW questions directed towards YOUR nominees.
  • One is not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated one’s own blog!
  • One pastes the award picture above into one’s blog. (You can google the image, there are plenty of them!)

I was nominated by Penelope Jones, aka Bad Penny, aka Sweet P, aka Bawdy Maude the Super Swell 50s Broad.  Her blog is http://www.thepenelopejones.wordpress.com and she writes sweet poems, raunchy poems, sweet stories, raunchy stories, whaaaaat-was-that stories, and also BDSM stories (and pictures, the pictures are the best part).

Eleven Random Facts about me:

1. I once participated in the Junior Olympics in fencing.

2. I finished all semesters of Differential Equations before my senior year in high school (wow, I use that math alllll the time now, for real… not.)

3. I hate anchovies.

4. I hate warm pineapples. Totally squicks me out. Gah!

5. I once hit on a monk in Assisi, but in fairness I didn’t realize he was a monk at the time. TOTAL false advertising. Italian men are tricky, ladies, let that be a lesson.

6. I had very blond hair when I was little but now it is dark. I don’t dye it.

7. When I was pregnant with my middle child I ate an avocado every day. Yeah, a whole one. Mmmnn.

8. I wear heels even on the days I never leave the house.

9. I read my first smut book at the age of ten.

10. I’ve re-read Pride & Prejudice probably every year since the first time I read it at the age of thirteen. (You can add how many years that is based on your assumption of how old I am. I suggest you make me in my twenties. My twenties were fun. I think.)

11. I have a sweet young sounding voice… and a really, really dirty mouth.

Penny Maude the Dirty Broad’s Eleven Questions:

  • 1. What is your favorite color and why?

Green. I love nature.

  • 2. If you could do one dare-devil move, knowing you would live through it, what would it be and      why?

I do not do daredevil moves. Nope, nuh uh. Bwak bwak.

  • 3. Have you had a one night stand?

Yes.

  • 4. Did you know his/or her’s name?

Yes.

  • 5. Name a quality in yourself you love?

My loyalty.

  • 6. Name a quality in yourself you don’t love?

My insecurity.

  • 7. If you could be a flavor of skittles, which one would you be and why?

Cherry. Why? …..Duh.

  • 8. Name one thing about your partner you love, or your dream partner would have?

His humor.

  • 9. If you could only have sex in one place forever, where would it be and why?

I find this question extremely confusing, Penny. One place as in my house? Outside? On a bed? Place in my body? *snicker* Alright, fine, beds are fun. Many things can be done with a bed, on a bed, against a bed. I prefer beds.

  • 10. How many times did you change your answer to question 9?

I dithered on it so long there was no need to change it. LMAO

  • 11. How many of you think Bad Penny’s always to blame?

Not me. In the words of Al Capone, Bad Penny’s “just providing a service”. *snicker*

My nominations:

My questions for my nominees:

1. What’s your favorite piece of clothing?

2. What’s your favorite accessory?

3. What’s the first book that truly shocked you?

4. If you were forced to choose, Would you choose sex but no love, or love but no sex? Why?

5. Bourbon or vodka?

6. Soup or salad?

7. What’s your favorite thing to do on a vacation? Why?

8. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

9. What made you follow me on Twitter/Blog/Facebook?

10. What do you love most in your significant other? (question totally stolen from Penny)

11. What do you love most in yourself? (Also totally stolen from Penny)

Looking forward to your answers!

ReBlog: On sexual submission (plus my thoughts)

On sexual submission.

This man’s mind is an amazing thing. His blog is intellectually mesmerizing. I suggest you take a look at this post if you’ve ever been curious about the Dominant/submissive BDSM symbiotic relationship. His post reminded me of the discussions I have had — and led — regarding the varied menagerie of human sexuality while teaching Anthropology. It’s easy to get caught up in your own point of view and not think of it from the Other’s. I’m very guilty of that from time to time.

25 Things I Want To Say To So-Called “Aspiring” Writers.

Well put.

It’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it!

Samantha Holt (medieval romance writer) posted this and I just had to share:

Vote for me! Vote for me!

Hey guys did you know that Goodreads has this category of Best Unknown Books that must be Known?

Please vote for First, I Love You! ❤

http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/25529.Best_Unknown_but_must_be_Known_books_

Pretty please, sugar and frosting on top.

Smooches, Gen.

A liberating feeling.

I love poetry (if you know me in real life, this is nothing new to you). What I love most is how in a few words the author can evoke an image that us painters of prose take pages to express. I also love how, like songs, they compliment a memory or story within your head. This poem in particular made me think so strongly of Kiki and James. Thanks, Beth!

Just an update…

I have a deadline to get these Second of All revisions out before Thanksgiving. SO, I will post the Liebster questions and nominations on Turkey Day probably. I haven’t forgotten, but if I want to get this book out by January, I have to be Good Gennie and focus.

And that’s what you guys want too, right? I’m very excited about this book. I hope you enjoy it in all its introspective yet passionate glory.
